Bettie Page
The original pin-up girl and an American idol, Bettie Page certainly left a mark on American culture with her unique style. Bettie became the “Queen of Pin-ups” through her modeling career during the 1950’s. Never camera-shy, she often posed nude or for bondage themed shoots. Her persona inspired the creation of the Bettie Page clothing line to match that era.
I recently visited the Bettie Page clothing store in downtown San Diego and what I experienced is a store that takes you back to an era of femininity. The store carries women and children’s clothing, shoes, jewelry, and accessories. There are many fabrics and colors to choose from as well as styles. This retro look certainly has an innocent type of sex appeal, giving me a better understanding of why some individuals love this unique style! What do you think of the white dress I tried on? Love it or hate it?
